Inside AVANTCHA Dubai: Where Tea Becomes a Wellness Experience
An afternoon tea discovery in Dubai that reminded me wellness can be beautiful, sensory, and surprisingly simple.
There are some places you discover while traveling that immediately make you want to slow down.
AVANTCHA in Dubai was one of those places for me.
I walked in expecting tea. What I found felt much more like an experience, rows of beautifully packaged blends, colorful botanicals, a contemporary tea bar, and a menu that made choosing a cup feel like discovering something new.
As someone whose world naturally intersects beauty, wellness, and elevated experiences, I was intrigued.
This wasn’t the traditional image of afternoon tea. It felt modern, global and intentional.
And that’s exactly what caught my attention.
A Different Kind of Tea Experience
The first thing I noticed was the presentation.
AVANTCHA treats tea almost like a beauty or fragrance house treats ingredients. The leaves, fruits, herbs and blends aren’t hidden away. They’re part of the experience.
There were walls lined with tea, colorful individual packages, loose-leaf blends you could actually see, and a bar where tea became something to explore rather than simply order.
For me, that’s what made the experience memorable.
I’ve always believed wellness works best when it becomes part of the life you’re already living, not another complicated thing you have to add to your schedule.
A beautiful cup of tea in the middle of an afternoon in Dubai? That I can get behind.
What I Discovered: Rush Hour Berry
One blend that caught my attention was Rush Hour Berry, a vibrant fruit tea filled with visible pieces of berries and botanicals.
Even before brewing it, it’s beautiful.
The deep reds, berries and fruit pieces give it the kind of visual appeal that makes you curious about what’s actually inside your cup.
And that curiosity is important.
One of the things I’m increasingly interested in through BLEW is looking beyond the front of the package, whether we’re talking about beauty, food, supplements or wellness products, and understanding the ingredients behind the experience.
With herbal and fruit teas, the potential wellness story depends on the specific botanicals in the blend. Ingredients such as hibiscus, berries and other fruits can naturally contain plant compounds such as polyphenols, but their amounts and evidence vary considerably by ingredient and preparation.
So I don’t think every beautiful tea needs to be marketed as a miracle wellness drink.
Sometimes the wellness benefit starts somewhere simpler.
It’s choosing a drink you enjoy.
It’s taking ten minutes away from your screen.
It’s replacing another sugary beverage with an unsweetened tea.
It’s creating a moment in your day that actually feels good.
That counts, too.
Tea as an Everyday Wellness Habit
That may have been my biggest takeaway from AVANTCHA.
Wellness doesn’t always need to announce itself as wellness.
We’ve made the category so complicated, supplements, powders, elaborate routines, trackers and endless optimization. that it’s easy to overlook some of the simplest habits.
Tea is one of them.
Depending on the variety, tea can offer different plant compounds, flavors and sensory experiences. Caffeinated teas can become an alternative to another coffee, while caffeine-free herbal and fruit infusions can offer another option when you simply want something flavorful to sip.
But beyond what’s chemically present in the cup, there’s something to be said for the behavior around it.
Boil the water.
Choose the blend.
Let it steep.
Sit down.
Drink it.
There is something beautifully uncomplicated about that.
The Beauty of the Experience
And then, of course, there was the aesthetic.
AVANTCHA understands something I think the best modern wellness brands understand very well: how something makes you feel is part of the experience.
The space was chic without feeling intimidating. The colorful tea packaging against the darker interior created an almost apothecary-like feeling, while the tea bar made everything approachable.
It felt luxurious, but not excessively so.
That’s very Dubai.
There is an attention to experience there that I continue to find fascinating—from hotels and restaurants to beauty and wellness concepts. It’s rarely just about the product. Presentation, environment and service become part of the product.
AVANTCHA did that with tea.
From Dubai, With Tea
I went in because the space caught my attention.
I left thinking about something much bigger: how many everyday things can become part of our wellness lives when we approach them differently.
A cup of tea doesn’t need to promise transformation.
It can simply be beautiful, delicious and give you a reason to slow down for a few minutes.
And perhaps that’s why this particular stop stayed with me.
BLEW is about Beauty, Lifestyle, Experiences and Wellness, but those categories don’t exist separately in real life. They constantly overlap.
This afternoon in Dubai was a perfect example.
An experience led me to a new lifestyle discovery.
That discovery opened a conversation about wellness.
And now there’s a tea I want to drink again.
That’s the kind of discovery worth bringing home.
